Life Sucks

Life sucks.

I’m finally heading back to work - I’m still in pain and have to take Hydrocodone, which makes my brain function improperly, and Lyrica, which makes me sleep for three hours every afternoon. Not sure how work is going to go, but I’m going to give it a whirl. I’m hoping I’ll be off the drugs in a month. This isn’t the sucky part.

Steve is having a triple coronary bypass surgery on Friday (8/24). That sucks. It’s unimaginable, actually. I really can’t even think about it. Sure - “it’s common nowadays - 355,000 are performed every year” - but that’s very little consolation.

There have been bright spots in the past couple of weeks - we visited our friend Rob in Austin and were able to make it to Hippie Hollow. We also had a chance to see our old friend Ray West (the picture below was taken before we learned of Steve’s heart problems). It’s very difficult for me to see these “bright spots” with all the horrible health issues.
