The trip started off on an interesting note: we ran into Karen and her mom, Jay, on their way to Las Vegas. Steve used to work with Karen at USA.

Steve waits patiently for the incredibly bad traffic in Orlando while we're on the Hertz bus. Stop lights that lasted three minutes and tourists randomly changing lanes were the norm.
We ran into our friend, Lee, from Houston on the first night as we were wandering around the host hotel.
Two lesbians were getting married in the Gay Days ballroom. There were wedding decorations all over the place.
The view from our room at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista was great. The hotel is the Grovesvenor and Downtown Disney is behind it.
There was a nice pool, but we never saw any men in it.

Rex poses in the Rainforest Cafe in front of an elephant (which you cannot see.) We always eat on the deck at the Rainforest, but have never been inside (the wait is always at least an hour and a half). This time I wanted a souvenir, so I made Steve take this picture.

Steve smiles at MGM on Friday, even though it's pouring down rain. We had even more smiles later, when we just walked right onto the Tower of Terror.
Steve enjoys his wait in line at the Haunted Mansion on Saturday.
We spent most of Saturday with Rex's old friend Randy, and his friends John and Jody. We ran into them on the monorail as we were heading into the park. John, Jody, and Randy are pictured (and it's a pretty horrible picture, but it's all we've got.)

At "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire", it was "Star Wars" day. We were joined by this fine fellow.
He sat in front of us. It was pretty fun: the first contestant was Greedo, from Star Wars, Episode IV. Then, when the real playing started, all the questions were Star Wars-based and they were extremely difficult.

Rex poses with a green army man.

Toy Story characters
Goofy (or is it Pluto?)
Chip and Dale. Note the baby-vomit towel on the shoulder of the guy in front of us.
Snow White - compare her with me in my Halloween costume.
Pinocchio in a bubble. I still find it rather disturbing to see this character parade. I wonder if we shake them really hard if snow will appear?
Magical moment: a bunny nibbling grass in front of Cinderalla's castle.
Rex enjoys a completely empty Epcot on Sunday - we were in the park at 8:30 to get ready for the Segway tour.
Steve expresses his dismay at the heat while getting ready for Mission:Space! The ride was a real letdown, by the way: all it did was nauseate us.
Steve prepares for the Segway tour.
Steve puts on his dorkiest expression before we board our Segways for the first time.
Here we are posing on our Segways. This was the best thing we ever did at Disney. Riding a Segway was a lot of fun and we zipped around (and through) all the countries in the "World Showcase" with no other guests around us.
And another lovely picture of us. Perhaps our Christmas card?
Rex and Steve say goodbye to Disney for 2004 in front of the beautiful flowers of France.
