Bronze!

We did it - we got a bronze medal at the Gay Games in Beach Volleyball, Men's C division. It was a lot of fun - but gosh, I am tired.

Tuesday afternoon
Back from the beach - we made the medal round! Tomorrow morning at 9, we play two more matches that wil decide the Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Gold medal match is at noon. Hope the weather is as nice as today - 85 degrees and a nice breeze.

Gay Games (Monday morning)
It's been a busy time. In a nutshell: Chicago has great mass transit. Opening ceremonies were extremely boring. Practice on Sunday morning went well. We got lost looking for a restauraunt. And then we had a great dinner and 8 hours of sleep before this morning's start.

Squirrel fun

Steve purchased this thingy that gets screwed to a tree that has four arms with an ear of corn at the end of each arm. The arms rotate freely and there is a rod that keeps them about 9 inches from the tree. Squirrels must figure out how to get the corn, without falling off: we haven't seen any squirrels fall yet, but they are quite amusing trying to figure things out. This squirrel sometimes uses an interesting strategy of going to the arms and leaning on one of them and causing the arms to spin. He/she then scurries back to the tree and tries to grab the ear of corn as it swings by the trunk. I'll post videos soon...

Arabic graffiti

On our trip back from Austin, we stopped at a local bathroom in the middle of Texas: I found it interesting that there was Arabic graffiti on the wall.
